Ganoderma: The Natural Alternative Cancer Treatment

November 10th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Why is lucidum now being used as one of the natural alternative treatment for cancer, especially after ? To understand this we will need to know the therapeutic contents of . Ganoderma Lucidum contents vary at different stages of its life. In its mycelium stage, the main content is polysaccharide, organic germanium, a whole range of vitamins and minerals whilst in its mature stage, the main contents are polysaccharide, organic germanium, adenosine, ganoderic essence,
triterpenoid, protein and fibre. The amount of polysaccharide and organic germanium in the mycelium is about four times more than that in the mature . These differences leads to different application for the mycelium and the mature .

Many may have read about Dr Kazuhiko Asai’s findings on the effect of organic germanium on cancer. The organic germanium does not attack the cancer cells directly but seems to stimulate the body’s immune system, making it potentially effective in the as well as other degenerative diseases. As such it is a biological-response modifier that enable the body to change its responses to tumors, resulting in therapeutic benefits. At the time of his study, the cost of extracting organic germanium
from natural sources was very expensive, thus he synthesize it.

Germanium exist in two states, organic and inorganic. In its organic state, the germanium is bonded to three atoms of oxygen, making it an efficient oxygen carrier. There are many findings showing that the underlying causes of chronic diseases is due to free radical damage resulting in insufficient cellular oxygenation. Cancer cells cannot metabolize oxygen properly. Flooding the cancer cells with oxygen may retard the growth of cancer cells and may even help them to return to normal. From biochemical point of view, organic germanium seems to act a the cellular level and enhance the effects of the GAP Junctional Intercellular Communication thus preventing the spread tumor from cell to cell.

Recent development has enable lucidum to be cultured and produced in mass production. It has brought to light that the mycelium of lucidum can absorb organic germanium and minerals faster than and contains about 6000 ppm organic germanium whereas other medicinal herbs contain about 800 to 2000 ppm only. Internet-Based Grid Computing

November 7th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

An open letter to members of D’Wild West (A The Site Fights Team) was sent in October 2000, which is below. After seven years the UD grid accomplished its goals and remains silent as of Friday April 27, 2007.

The research centered on proteins that were been determined to be a possible target for cancer therapy. Through a process called “virtual screening”, special analysis software identified molecules that interacted with these proteins, and determined which of the molecular candidates had a high likelihood of being developed into a drug. The process is similar to finding the right key to open a special lock — by looking at millions upon millions of molecular keys.

Participants in the Cancer Research Project were sent a ligand library over the Internet. Their PC analyzed the molecules using a docking software called LigandFit by Accelrys. The LigandFit software analyzed the molecular data by using a three-dimensional model to attempt to interact with a protein binding site. When a ligand docked successfully with a protein, the resulting interaction was scored and the interactions that generated the highest scores were recorded and filed for further evaluation.

We need a better answer. Over five decades of cancer research effort in drug discovery and development have yielded more than 40 drugs for the treatment of cancers. These anti-cancer drugs are extending the lives of many people with cancer, but often at great cost. The side effects commonly associated with cancer therapy often may seem as bad as the disease itself. Side effects can be so severe that they limit the dosages patients can receive. And half of all cancer patients fail to respond to the therapies currently available.

Despite these shortcomings, these therapies are still quite costly — a considerable amount of money is spent on treating cancer. Treatment of cancers account for over 6% of all health care costs. The National Institutes of Health estimate cancer is responsible for $37 billion for direct medical costs, and $11 billion in lost productivity due to illness. The discovery of new drugs represents the best hope to fight both the rising medical costs and the suffering associated with current cancer therapies.

There could hardly be a scourge more worth fighting — the high mortality rate, the suffering experienced by patients, and the high costs of treatment make fighting this disease a research priority.

Even with extensive pre-screening, the whittled-down number of molecules to review for this project is estimated at over two hundred million for each protein — a daunting number. Analyzing this quantity of anything requires an enormous amount of computational power. And when the numbers are this big, even supercomputing is limited. A super computer has a peak capacity. That is, if a workload is three times the capacity of the computer, the jobs must be “queued up” and attacked consecutively. A project like this one might take so much time that a researcher wouldn’t even embark on it — he or she wouldn’t see the end result in their lifetime. However, with distributed computing, thousands or even millions of individual computers can each work on different molecules simultaneously, and the time to results can be significantly lessened.

Diana Campbell’s Letter

I have had Stage IV Breast Cancer (metastases to the bones) since Sept. 2000, and was first diagnosed as Stage IIIB in January, 1992. The past decade has been a roller coaster ride and if you, a family member or friend has cancer, then you know what I’m talking about.

I began researching Stage IV Breast Cancer in the summer of 1999 when an X-ray during a checkup showed a suspicious sliver on a back rib. Many months later, this sliver was a huge tumor, but it had previously biopsied negative. I had a feeling something was not right so I began researching. I found there was not as much info on Stage IV as there was on Breast Cancer prevention and awareness as well as early stage, primary diagnosis and treatment.

So I created this website and the associated Survivor webring, email lists, research project and stores. My goal was to provide the information here that we all want to know at this Stage — mostly associated with what we can do to prolong our lives. I am in the process of updating and adding but I hope this site will be of some help to you. Please join the UD grid too as this project will help speed cancer research and possibly help me and others too very shortly as we cope with stage IV .

Diana Campbell

Diana passed away on February 19, 2003

Within a month of joining Diana’s team in December 2000 I found that cancer had vested itself in my frailer human body too.

The initial team which Diana formed began to dwindle as cancer took its ugly toll. Wishing always remember my dear friend and make a contribution, my resources were transferred to the AS! team-CureNow. AS! is now exploring forming another team with broader appeal beyond the very small awards community and will be making a decision in the very near future. I will certainly join and a new team graphic with a link will be updated in this space.

To keep the memory of Diana alive there are now various Internet-based grid computing schemas available, thanks to the pioneering work of Oxford University and United Devices.

The World Community Grid software uses the idle time of Internet-connected computers and applies this computing power toward the advancement of humanity.

The agent works like a screen saver, only using a computer’s resources when it would otherwise be idle and relinquishing the resources back to the users when they start using the computers again. The agent can also be run like an application, always running in the background unless specifically disabled/paused.

While many public computing grids such as SETI@home or Folding@home have been devoted to a single project, the World Community Grid offers multiple humanitarian projects under a single umbrella. Projects are approved by an advisory board, with members from most of the major research institutions and universities, as well as the UN and WHO.

Within the grid, users may join teams that have been created by organizations, groups, or individuals. Teams allow for a heightened sense of community identity and attempts to inspire competitiveness.

World Community Grid also differs from other grid projects by offering support for more than one grid infrastructure. The open source BOINC client is available for Linux, Windows, and Mac; the proprietary Grid MP from United Devices Inc. is only available for Windows.

History

The United Devices Smallpox Research Grid Project was sponsored by IBM and other Research Participants to accelerate the discovery of a smallpox cure. The Smallpox study employed computational chemistry on a massive distributed computing grid to analyze candidates for a medical therapy to fight the smallpox virus.

The project allowed scientists to screen 35 million potential drug molecules against several smallpox proteins to identify good candidates for developing into smallpox treatments. In the first 72 hours, 100,000 results were returned and 44 strong treatment candidates were identified at the completion of the project.

Based on the success of the Smallpox study, IBM announced on November 16, 2004 the creation of World Community Grid with the goal of creating a technical environment where other humanitarian research could be processed.

World Community Grid initially only supported Windows, using the proprietary grid technology from United Devices which powers grid.org projects. Strong demand for Linux support led to the open source BOINC grid technology which powers the Seti@home and Climateprediction (among others) being added. Mac OS X support is now also included.

As of March 24, 2007, the World Community Grid had nearly 272,000 members with over 550,000 registered work stations. It had a total process run time equivalent to about 82,000 years and about 80 million results have been sent. The World Community Grid updates these statistics several times a day, making the information available through a dedicated statistics page.

Nutritional Cancer Support

October 21st, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Cancer patients suffer from a very difficult life. The conventional treatment of helps in the patients but reduces the quality of life substantially. People who opted for a dual treatment of and Polymva, which is a variant of palladium Lipoic Acid (LAPd), the response rate to treatment was as high as 77%. Polymva which is a variant of Palladium Lipoic Acid (LAPd) complex serves as a potent nutritional support to any kind of cancer. Lot of research has been done on the subject and results prove that LAPd complex when taken as a nutritional supplement like Polymva acts as a cancer deterrent.

In a study done by leading medical visionary in the field of oncology, Dr. James Williams Forsythe it was found that people who were suffering from lung, colorectal, breast, prostate, brain, renal, lymphomas cancers showed a better response to traditional treatment when it was supplemented with Nutritional Cancer support such as Polymva. Dr. Merrill Garnett has done 30 years of research to create the formulation of Polymva. The rare metal palladium when it was experimented on Cancer cells in certain species of animals was found to give encouraging results. The healthy cells in the body remained unharmed. Dr. Garnett had always wanted to restore cells to their normal cells and he had achieved success. Dr. Garnett was given a patent for his formulation. Polymva is a water and fat soluble formulation and acts as a potent anti-oxidant. It increases the metabolism rate in the body acts as a nutritional supplement generating energy.

There is a point that we need to take a note. Nutritional Cancer Support should not be considered as a conventional Cancer treatment. On the other hand Nutritional Cancer Support in the form of medical supplements such as Polymva improves the quality of life in Cancer patients and helps them to live longer than they would have expected with conventional treatment. Nutritional Supplements also help in deterring other terminal diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Now, the next question we may ask is whether Nutritional Cancer Supplements like Polymva are safe. The answer is nutritional cancer support supplements like Polymva are absolutely safe and Non-Toxic. Laboratory tests and safety reports have proved Polymva to be safe and beneficial for healthy living. Polymva is soluble and starts showing results as soon as 2-4 weeks after you start the dosage.

Nutritional Cancer Support is nowadays being administered to patients in many hospitals across the United States of America in addition to Traditional Therapy. The process to start the FDA trials of Poly-MVA has already been initiated. Day’s may not be far when nutritional supplements such as Poly-MVA may become an approved Nutritional Supplement for Cancer.

Mesothelioma - Gain The Cancer Facts To Become Aware Of

October 18th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Diagnosis

Confirming if Mesothelioma is present is done through a biopsy, performed by an oncologist or even a doctor specializing in the diagnosis and pathologies, removes a small sample of tissue from a patient and examines it using a microscope. Difficulty breathing, abdominal and chest pain, and fever can all be attributed to other causes, so this cancer can have the time to advance fairly well before diagnosis of the disease.

Because of the difficulty in diagnosing , the survival time after diagnosis is estimated at about one year. The time that occurs between exposure and the start of the disease, and the rate at which it progresses, makes diagnosis extremely difficult.
Early diagnosis is thus crucial in treating this particular form of cancer.

Symptoms

Symptoms of Mesothelioma may not appear for up to 30 to 50 years after exposure.

Anyone who has been exposed to this type of asbestos may not have any kind of symptoms for up to forty years. An individual may visit a doctor numerous times with the symptoms but they are more often considered as respiratory infections. The non-specific symptoms can make it difficult for even experienced doctors to make a quick and conclusive diagnosis of patients.

Take note that these symptoms may be due to other reasons also. If you have a tumor in the pleura, which is the membrane surrounding the lungs, other symptoms that can occur are chest pain, coughing and a difficulty with breathing. The outer and inner layers of the pleura can become thickened. The most common Mesothelioma symptoms is a shortness of breath and pain in the chest region.

Peritoneal can also include other uncomfortable symptoms like bowel obstruction, clotting of the blood, anemia or fever. This is why diagnosis of Mesothelioma cancer is very difficult in many cases, because its symptoms may be associated with other diseases too.

Cause

If this chemical is inhaled, it can be extremely toxic and thus cause this type of cancer. As asbestos fibers are released into the air they can be inhaled or digested which can cause the cancer. When asbestos fibres accumulate in the peritoneum (which is the lining of the abdomen) this can lead to peritoneal and the building up of fibres around the tissue of the heart causing pericardial .

If asbestos fibres accumulate in the lining of the lungs this can result in cells nearby becoming deformed eventually resulting in what is called pleural .

Pleural is a rare disease which attacks the lining of the lung and chest cavity and is usually cancerous, caused as a result of asbestos exposure and it could take 15 to 35 years to develop the disease, from the time of the asbestos exposure. Smoking does not cause it. The only known, established cause of Mesothelioma is asbestos.

To repeat, the primary cause of cancer is linked to exposure to asbestos fibers which are breathed into the lungs or swallowed.

Treatment

The most common and the basic form of Mesothelioma treatment is through surgery. Radiation treatment and may be helpful in the overall treatment program. Compensation received can help in alleviating some of the burden of the medical treatment costs, particularly for anyone who is uninsured, and can help an individual to live in a more comfortable way, obviously.

If Mesothelioma is actually diagnosed and if the cancerous tumor is small enough, surgery may be fairly successful. If this is not the case and the tumor is large, there is no successful treatment available, although sometimes radiotherapy may be used to help with relieving the symptoms. Research is being carried out in various research labs all over the USA and many pharmaceutical companies are also trying to come up with new drug and treatment methods. Your chances of recovering from Mesothelioma and the kind of treatment that will be used depends on what stage the illness is at.

As mentioned before, the type of has an impact on the prognosis, including the age of the patient, how much the tumor has actually developed and if treatment was given.

Breast Cancer: True Secrets of Understanding and Healing

October 8th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

A great deal of research has been devoted to the in the last 60 years. High tech treatments are now being developed which can increase survival rates and reduce the terrible side effects of the highly toxic drugs and radiation which are the foundations of most medical cancer treatments. New surgical techniques including arthroscopic have greatly aided doctors in removing tumors. Indeed, medical science has every reason to be both proud and optimistic about the prospects of in the 21st Century.

But very little research has been done on the psychological causes of cancer. Why, for example, are certain cancers like breast, colon, and such epidemics in our society? This kind of research could not only help us to change the structures of our culture to greatly reduce the incidence of such diseases, it could give us a wealth of information on how to cure these afflictions. As a hypnotherapist who has specialized in accessing these underlying causes for 25 years of work with cancer patients I have discovered some important answers to this question.

Take . According to recent research one out of every eight women will suffer in her lifetime. 20 years ago that figure was one in ten. To describe this as a growing epidemic is a serious understatement. But it seems to me that not enough doctors and scientists are asking “why ?”

Let me illustrate this with a medical mystery from the past. In 19th century England, during the peak of the first industrial revolution, it is estimated that over 75% of deaths were attributed to a single disease: consumption. We now know that this epidemic was directly created by the acid-filled coal smoke that poured out of the chimneys of England’s factories and homes, combined with a virulent strain of tuberculosis which thrived in the cold damp climate, overcrowded tenements, and polluted air of England.

The prevalence of wool and coal dust in the filthy factories which employed children as young as six also contributed to this pandemic. Also contributing was an air of fatalism which dominated the collective consciousness of the time. Because everyone in this society saw the same thing all day long, the culture entered a kind of group hypnotic trance in which this kind of pandemic was seen as fate. It was simply assumed that most people died before forty of lung disease.

While doctors worked hard, and mostly in vain, to stem the tide of the epidemic with a number of treatments, very few had the foresight or the courage to challenge the social institutions which perpetuated this veritable holocaust. Nowadays it’s easy to point the finger at these ignorant doctors. We know that lungs are used for breathing, so we look at the stuff people were breathing in. A similarly pragmatic approach helped researchers determine the connection between and smoking in the 1960’s. So what can we learn from these discoveries about the epidemic of the late 20th and 21st Century?

To discover the meaning of this epidemic we need no advanced degree in biochemistry or oncology. We need simply to explore what breasts are used for, and study the way women’s breasts are being used in our culture. Obviously, the primary purpose of breasts is to feed babies. However a number of social changes over the last half century have led to a precipitous drop in breast feeding. These changes include women entering the work force in large numbers, replacement of breast feeding with infant formula, and the postponement or cancellation of child bearing by women who are career oriented. Like the industrial revolution of the 19th century, these changes have greatly improved many aspects of life, including giving women freedom to pursue many exciting goals outside of the home. I am no Taliban terrorist who would choose to roll back all the gains women have made in the last 60 years. But we have made these advances at the cost of an epidemic of . And until now no one has been willing to see what we have created.

The research bears out this theory. Among the risk factors that predict higher rates of we find some interesting statistics. If a woman waits till her thirties to have children, if she does not breast feed them, if she doesn’t have any children, all of these factors increase a woman’s statistical probability of getting . Ask yourself this question: If you were a breast, and no one ever paid any attention to you, no one ever let you fulfill your purpose, what would you do?

Of course I don’t reveal these secrets unless I have an answer for them within the world of hypnotherapy. And there’s a simple answer here. While it is generally impossible to get my clients into active breast feeding, I have found that it’s only necessary for the client to actively imagine themselves breastfeeding in order to stimulate breast tissue to repair itself. Some clients imagine the joy of breastfeeding their now grown children as infants through regression therapy. Some clients simply imagine breast feeding an inner child. Some clients are taught to hold a doll or stuffed animal and nurse it like a baby, sometimes using gentle massage on their breasts comparable to the squeezing associated with nursing. This produces pleasant tingling sensations within the breast which rapidly lead to a flow of hormones and blissful feelings throughout the body.

I am highly skeptical of overly simplistic theories about any disease process. So it’s important to keep in mind that only your breast knows what issues have led to its disease. Sometimes it is necessary to process feelings of loss, grief, or guilt that are associated with the client’s breasts. One client found her cancerous right breast was tired of “nursing” her emotionally immature husband, who always slept on her right side in bed. Another felt guilty about not nursing her children and needed to beg their forgiveness. One simple way to access the breast’s emotional baggage is to journey into the breast in a hypnotic state, or talk to the breast in hypnosis as if it were a person to find out what issues are haunting it. Notice that in both of these examples, the nurturing function of the breast was being twisted or neglected in some way.

The results? Stimulation of healthy circulation and activation of immune system activity within the breast as a result of all these processes have led to tumor reduction or elimination in a number of cases I have examined. Of course double blind studies in a hospital setting are still years away for this simple but effective treatment option, because there are no millions of dollars in profit to be made. So I recommend you do not wait for the medical industry to catch up with the obvious.

Remember all the doctors trying in vain to treat the consumptive patients of the 19th Century? Start creating the medicine of the future now…and let your doctor know what you are doing! Wherever possible, I encourage my clients to work closely with their oncologist. It seems to me that combining the methods described in this article with the latest in new medical treatments is the best formula for easy and complete recovery.
