Cancer: Understanding the Body and the Need for Change to Heal

October 21st, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

There are a few facts about cancer which many people seem to miss.

One, cancer is not a disease, as a result of catching a bug. It is a manifestation of internal imbalance and an immune system going haywire.

Two, life itself produces cancer cells. Everyday millions and millions of cells are being produced to replace the worn out cells. Biologically some of these cells turn out to be “poor or defective” copies of the healthy cells. Eventually the “bad” copies turn into cancer cells. It is said that all of us produce “cancerous cells” everyday.

Three, our body has the capacity to monitor and destroy these “poor” cell copies. As a result these “bad” copies do not get to become full-blown cancer cells.

Jon Craig, a physicist who suffered from wrote in his book (A Cancer Survival Plan) the while undergoing treatment he asked his oncologist what had cause his cancer and what he could do to prevent a recurrence. Unfortunately, the doctor had no answer! Indeed, the job of his doctor is to treat the disease. Medical science does not deal with cultivating and preserving health. Jon Craig used two terminologies: CCPR which stands for Cancer Cell Production Rate and ISKC meaning Immune System Killing Capacity. In each of us, cancer cells are being produced and if the rate of cancer production is high and the killing capacity of the immune is low, then we may end up with more cancer cells in the body. That is how we get cancer.

So, in essence cancer patients have compromised immune system in the body to begin with. Antibiotics, steroids, radiation or chemo-drugs cannot cure such problem. In fact, all these destroy the immune system instead. You may end up worse than you were before.

When you go for surgery, radiotherapy or , the aim is to reduce the population of cancer cells. If the CCPR = ISKC, there is a remission or cancer is under control. This is a situation where the number of cancer cells are reduced to a low enough number or even eliminated (temporarily?) so that the immune system is able to cope with them again. But to achieve this situation is just a half a job done or half a battle won. If the immune system is not strengthened, the cancer cells will grow back. So you get a relapse.

To achieve and maintain good health we must not only aim at CCPR=ISKC. We must ensure that our immune system becomes stronger and stronger so that the Immune System Killing Capacity of the body far exceeds the Cancer Cells Production Rate. To be able to do this the old lifestyle that promotes cancer must be abandoned. You must change for a new, healthy lifestyle. If you are not prepared to change there is no way that you can reverse the tide of cancer growing and spreading in your body.

Let us be reminded again, the treatments that kill cancer cells are only half-done jobs. That is why most patients suffer relapses after an apparent successful treatment.

Types of Breast Cancer

October 21st, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Women seem to fear more than any other life threatening disease. Research shows women are more likely to die from cardiovascular disease than from all forms of cancer combined. Breast cancer is rare in men, although it does occur.

If you are one that fears , there is more reason for optimism today than ever before. Doctors have made great progress in diagnosing and treating in the last 30 years.

Radical is rarely performed today. There are more and better treatment options. This article addresses the different types of .

Breast cancer type is determined from a tissue sample (biopsy) sent to the lab for analysis. The treatment for depends upon what type it is.

The breast’s milk ducts is where the most common types of originate. The actual point in origin is determined by the microscopic appearance of the cancer cells from a biopsy.

When cells remain contained within their place of origin the cancer is called situ . In situ the cancer cells have not invaded breast tissue around the duct or lobule.

Ductal carcinoma in situ is abnormal cells in the lining of a milk duct that have not invaded the surrounding breast tissue. In this early-stage some experts consider it to be a “precancerous” condition. Success of treatment during this stage is high. No evidence suggests that ductal carcinoma in situ affects a woman’s life span. If left untreated, it may eventually develop into invasive .

Lobular carcinomas in situ are abnormal cells contained within a lobule of the breast that have not invaded the surrounding breast tissue. It has not yet been determined if lobular carcinoma in situ is an early form of or just a marker for the future development of cancer. Experts agree if you have lobular carcinoma in situ you are at a higher risk of developing in either breast in the future.

Invasive breast cancers break free of where they originate and invade the surrounding tissues that support the ducts and lobules of the breast. The cancer cells can also travel to other parts of the body such as the lymph nodes.

Invasive ductal carcinoma accounts for the majority of invasive breast cancers.

Invasive lobular carcinoma is less common than invasive ductal carcinoma, but acts in a similar manner. It starts in the milk-producing lobule and invades the surrounding breast tissue, and can spread to more parts of the body. You might not be able to detect a breast lump with invasive lobular carcinoma. There may be a general thickening or sensation in the breast tissue that feels different. Invasive lobular carcinoma is harder to find by touch and less likely to appear on a mammogram.
