Cancer - When Medical Treatments Did Not Cure Anything

July 19th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Cancer is a serious illness. It is also a “misrepresented and misunderstood” illness. Patients go to their doctors hoping to be cured of their cancers. Often, they failed to find that elusive cure. My experience showed me that those patients who have cancer for the first time and who have no relatives or friends with cancer before, have the misconceived notion that medical science can cure cancer. They would say: “What is the problem, with my money and the best doctors, the best hospitals and the best chemo-drugs, the problem can be easily fixed.”

For more than twelve years now, I have been involved with terminally ill cancer patients who come to seek my help after medical science have failed them. It is very frustrating to know that patients are just naïve. They went to their doctors with total belief and expectation that their cancer can be cured. They do not seem to understand that the responsibility to get well and to maintain their own health is with them, not the doctors. They prefer to leave everything to the so-called “experts.” The story below is one example of what I often encounter.

In March 2007, I received a phone call from a long-lost friend. He wanted me to help his wife, Betty (not real name) who had just been diagnosed with brain cancer. As I went through his wife’s medical history, it turned out to be more than a “sudden” diagnosis of brain cancer.

In 2001, when Betty was forty-five years old, she underwent a total hysterectomy due to a 20 x 22 cm left ovarian tumour. The surgeon did not recommend any follow up treatment after the surgery. The impression Betty had was that: “Everything is taken out and it is all clean.”

Everything seemed to be alright for Betty after this surgery. She did not go further than that and like most people, she was satisfied that she was well taken of. The surgery was the “proven” answer to her problem.

In early 2004, Betty had difficulty moving her bowels. A big tumour was found in her colon and she underwent a surgery to remove it. The histopathology report dated 27 April 2004 indicated that her colon was distended up to the terminal ileum. The splenic flexure showed a tight stricture resulting in a blind loop gut. Betty was eventually diagnosed with a moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the colon, stage B. Since no lymph nodes were involved, the surgeon did not see any need to give her any follow up treatment. Betty was again given the impression that everything was well taken of.

Three years later, in March 2007, Betty had headaches and lost her balance when walking. She also vomited. MRI of Betty’s brain on 26 March 2007, showed the presence of “an irregular 3.2 x 3.0 x 1.8 cm loculated enhancing lesion in the left cerebellum. There was associated surrounding edema with compression of the midline structures.” Doctors advised immediate surgery. The surgeon impressed upon the husband that without immediate surgery Betty’s cancer would spread like wild fire.

Betty’s husband came to seek my advice. I cautioned that resection of the tumour from the brain might not solve her problem. It could worsen the situation. Most probably the tumour would recur and often very soon too. In addition, a CT scan showed that there was a 3 x 3.8 cm mass at the base of Betty’s right lung. There was also a 5 mm hypodense nodule in segment 4 of her liver. Betty also had gallstone. So to say that the cancer can spread fast is ill founded – for the cancer had already spread to her lung and liver.

Based on the “fear” expounded by the doctors, Betty underwent surgery. Histopathology report dated 2 April 2007 confirmed “tubulovillous adenocarcinoma metastatic to the brain, consistent with primary in the colon.”

After surgery, Betty was asked to undergo and radiotherapy. Betty was told that if she did not go for she would have only six months to live. With and radiotherapy Betty could expect to live for another two to three years. She would need six to eight cycles of , at about RM 2,000 per cycle. Since Betty was told that her cancer could not be cured, she declined further medical treatment.
Betty was started on herbs on 8 April 2007. After the surgery, she appeared normal and was able to eat well. However, her husband noticed the change of mood in her. She had bad temper, often had mood swings and did not want to socialize. She seemed to have memory loss. In short, Betty after surgery was not like the Betty before the surgery.

Barely two months later, Betty felt dizzy and nauseaous again – the very symptoms she had before being diagnosed with brain tumour. She would vomit even with the slightest smell of herbs. MRI of the brain on 11 June 2007, showed the presence of a “large irregular 3 x 4 cm mass in the left cerebellum. A similar 1.5 x 1.5 cm area was seen in the left temporal lobe. Surrounding edema was noted. The 4th ventricle was slightly compressed.” The radiologist concluded: “Left temporal and cerebellar metastasis.”

Betty remained at home under hospice care. She vomited everything that was put into her mouth. She felt dizzy with the slightest of movement and she was not able to move her bowels. Unfortunately, there was nothing much that could be done.

Recovering From Tumor Surgery

July 19th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

After undergoing tumor surgery, there are a number of things you can do in order to help your recovery. Here are some suggestions that will assist you in bouncing back after the ordeal of undergoing a surgical procedure involving the removal of a tumor.

One of the first things to remember is that, depending on the type of tumor and the location, what you may have experienced was the presence of a benign tumor rather than a malignant one. Count yourself lucky if that is the case. The presence of a malignant tumor indicates there is much more to do in the way of treatments and possibly more surgery before you have the situation under control. When your tumor surgery yields a benign tumor, your main task will be to focus on getting over the effects of the surgery.

Getting over the actual tumor surgery will vary somewhat, depending on where the incision was made and how large the incision happened to be. This will involve avoiding any type of activity that might lead to ripping or tearing of the incision as it heals. Your physician will be able to provide you with ways that you can get some exercise safely during the period. In many cases, you may be able to resume normal activities in less than a month.

During your recovery period, there will be days when you feel as if full recovery from the tumor surgery has already taken place. By all means enjoy that sense of renew vigor, but don’t assume that you have bounced back more quickly than the doctor indicated was normal. Persons recovering from any type of invasive procedure go through days when they feel great, only to be followed by days where they do not feel quite as well. While you may feel fine one day, engaging in too much activity too soon could lead to a setback. Take those good days with a grain of salt, but don’t see them as indicators that the is done.

Tumor surgery is a serious matter, as is any invasive procedure. While getting the good news that the tumor surgery revealed that the growth was benign will take a huge burden off your mind, don’t discount the importance of following the doctor’s instructions for your recovery time. Observe any guidelines about physical activity to the letter. In the long run, listening to the advice of your medical professional will make your tumor surgery recovery much easier.

Bladder Cancer And It’s Causes

July 19th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Bladder cancer is not the most common form of cancer, although it can be as deadly as other cancers. Bladder cancer is not a hormone-linked cancer such as breast, ovarian, prostate, or colon cancers. In addition, there is no evidence to support the idea that bladder cancer is inherited; it simply does not run in families. So what seems to be the root cause of bladder cancer? Bladder cancer would appear to be, from the available evidence, a cancer caused by carcinogenic compounds absorbed from outside the body. Bladder cancer is a cancer caused by environmental pollutants, whether they are lifestyle related, such as smoking, or chemicals in the workplace like benzidine.

Smoking is one of the most obvious risk factors that can contribute to bladder cancer. What’s worse, by the time bladder cancer starts to appear, the patient has likely been smoking for what may amount to decades. The ongoing deposit of carcinogens in the lungs and through the lungs into the blood stream has been considerable.

Bladder cancer rates tend to be higher among men than women, in addition, the rates are higher among men in the age of 50 years old and up. Smoking men in the over 50-age group have the highest rates of bladder cancer. Also working in an environment where certain carcinogenic chemicals are used seems to contribute as a risk factor.

The most common symptoms of bladder cancer are blood in the urine, very frequent urination, or a pressure to urinate, only to find that you can’t urinate. Any of these symptoms could have other causes, but certainly are worthy of a visit to a doctor. Bladder cancer is one cancer where early detection can result in a much less severe treatment option.

Basically there are two types of bladder cancer, a very superficial cancer on the lining of the bladder and a deeper cancer that has penetrated well into the tissues of the bladder. The more superficial cancer on the surface of the bladder lining can develop into the deeper cancer if left untreated. This is why it is important to respond to symptoms such as painful urination or blood in the urine and seek treatment.

The approach to dealing with these forms of bladder cancer can vary from burning off or cauterizing a superficial cancer; to removing part, or all, of the bladder in the case of a deeply rooted cancer. In addition, and radiation therapy have proven useful in dealing with bladder cancer. In the case of , a number of drugs are used. With radiation therapy, a radioactive dispenser can be installed in the bladder to give appropriate dosages of radiation to counter the cancer.

Obviously if the patient wants to avoid a reoccurence of the cancer, lifestyle changes may be in order. If the patient is a smoker, then trying to find a strategy to quit smoking would helpful. If the cancer seems to be provoked by a chemical in the workplace, then avoiding this chemical may be a good idea. Unfortunately, up to 30 percent of bladder cancers occur without any obvious environmental causes. Some people have suggested that chlorine in the water supply may be the culprit. A water filtration system, some of which can be reasonable in cost, would serve well here.

Whether your interest in bladder cancer is based on a desire to identify and understand a , or if you are interested because of more personal reasons, there are a few basic concepts to keep in mind. As with any cancer, early detection is essential in terms of chances of survival. In addition, try to identify and minimize risk factors. With this approach, the odds of success are in your favor.

Understanding ‘Cancer’ Cells And Diseases Associated With Aging… Alternative Cancer Treatment

July 19th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Every single cell in your body has its own built-in defense system. This defense system is called ‘glutathione’, and each cell produces it! Your immune system is highly dependent on your cells producing glutathione to aid in the prevention of all illnesses and diseases!

Glutathione protects the cells in your body against free radical damages. As the level of glutathione diminishes, a cell’s defense system weakens. It is then that a cell can become ‘injured’ by free radicals and even ‘mutate’ and start multiplying out of control.

When this happens, you now have what one calls a ‘tumor’ or ‘growth’. Over a period of time the ‘mutated’ cells can turn to ‘cancer’. When you have low glutathione levels, the immune system can no longer do its job. When your glutathione levels are strong, your immune system recognizes ‘injured’ and ‘mutated’ cells and neutralizes them.

What you need to understand!

A mutated cell that has become a ‘cancer’ cell, takes every bit of nutrition it needs to grow and become stronger by feeding on the glutathione of the healthy cells, hence weakening the healthy cells.

Therefore, this is why when one’s cancer cells are introduced to (a means of boosting the immune system), it is the normal cells that have been originally drained of glutathione by the cancer cells that take the beating, and why one feels so sick!

In fact, the which is given to boost your immune system for the purpose of killing these strong ‘cancer’ cells, puts you at a very high risk of a future ‘cancer’ originating from one of your healthy cells because they have so severely been drained of glutathione…hence the infamous remission period!

The cancer cells have been destroyed! Now let’s wait and see if a healthy, but weakened cell, becomes ‘cancerous’…That’s your remission period!!!

What doctors don’t take the time to explain!

Normal, healthy cells produces glutathione as it needs it, to build-up its defense system daily. It’s ongoing on a day-to-day basis, always reproducing.

Here lies the difference between a healthy cell and a cancer cell. A ‘cancer’ cell will produce and feed itself of glutathione very quickly to become a very strong cancer cell. But the moment they are too full, they ’shut down’. Once it shuts down, it can never, ever turn the clock or mechanism back on to make glutathione again! Normal cells produces it as it needs it, ‘cancer’ cells can’t.

Example: Cell A versus Cell B

Cell A is a normal cell. Cell B is low on glutathione. They both are being attacked every day by free radicals. It is a fact that as we age, glutathione levels start dropping and become low, thereby weakening the immune system and exposing us to all sorts of diseases.

Now, cell B which is already low on glutathione levels, has in effect weakened the immune system. Since the cell is constantly being attacked by free radicals, it is weakened further. Normally a strong immune system would suffice in destroying this cell. But because the immune system is so weak, it doesn’t and therefore, the DNA of this cell has changed and the cell has started to ‘mutate’. It has started multiplying and is now a ‘mass’ or a ‘tumor’.

Now that cell B has grown into a tumor, it starts ‘hogging’ all the nutrients it needs to make glutathione to become even stronger than the immune system. As it builds its strength, it grows out of control and becomes ‘cancerous’. When it’s introduced to , which is an immune system booster, it can withstand the !

Meanwhile cell A, which has been weakened by cell B, is also exposed to the poison and radiation of . Even if you manage to somehow recover from the first cancer, your immune system is so ‘beat up’ from the radiation of , that it can’t do its job.

The once normal cell A, has become so susceptible to free radical damage, that within 1 to 4 years, it to fails and becomes a secondary cancer with even more strength, than the primary.

THE KEY IS TO INCREASE GLUTATHIONE LEVELS!

The key is obviously to increase your glutathione levels in your body so that the cancerous cells, once full, stop making their own glutathione…’shut down’ and hence become the weaker cell. The immune system has now strengthened and overpowered the ‘mutated cells’ and destroys them.

Glutathione is the master antioxidant needed by the immune system to fight off every day free radical damage and DNA mutations. It is necessary not only to your cellular system, but also to your skeletal system. Consequently when it is high and strong, it will ward off any diseases.

Doctors will tell you that you cannot take immune system boosters, such as antioxidant vitamins C & E etc., during treatment. They are correct since the cancer cells are already stronger than the normal cells, and these antioxidants in pill form, only adds to their defense system against treatment by .

Glutathione , which naturally builds up the immune system, has to come from within the cells themselves, and manufactured by the cells.

SO HOW DOES ONE DO THIS? You need to boost your immune system naturally through complementary alternative medecine. Only by making sure your immune system is always at its peak can you avoid cancer.

Furthermore, if you’re struggling with cancer, and understand your cells as explained above, then you need to realize that the treatment you received, simply put, is an immune system booster to kill your cancerous cells. The problem, however, is that the good cells have been weakened of their glutathione levels to such an extent, that they too can now become cancerous. That is in fact, the truth behind the remission period. The ‘wait and see’ ideology!

It’s unfortunate that so many people believe, or are led to believe, that they are healed of cancer, or think that the remission period is to see if the cancer will come back. That cancerous cell will never come back, it’s been destroyed! You’re waiting to see if your good and weakened cells will become another cancer. I wish I would have known this when my wife died of in her forties, while in remission.
